Parenting is a Ministry

Institute for Responsible Citizenship Internship
The Institute for Responsible Citizenship is an intensive leadership program for America’s best and brightest African-American male college students. Their mission is to prepare men to be exemplary citizens and leaders. The Institute for Responsible Citizenship currently has three programs for African-American males to apply for: The Washington Program, The Youth Scholar Academy, and the KPMG Scholars Academy.

The Human Rights Watch International Film Festival in partnership with Adobe Youth Voices is looking for youth-produced films, videos and animated works on human rights issues for its third annual Youth Producing Change program. Fatherhood Initiative DYCD's Fatherhood Initiative helps fathers reconnect with their children and develop essential parenting skills. DYCD offers fatherhood programming in three distinct categories: Young Fathers (16-24 years-old), Older Fathers (over the age of 24), and Ex-offenders. Because it is hard to be a good parent without a good job, they also help fathers access employment opportunities. Other support services include:Individual and family counseling Mediation & conflict resolution training Assistance arranging child visitation Peer counseling and father-to-father mentoring GED and/or educational referrals ESOL classes or referrals College preparation The Fatherhood Initiative is especially important because it not only benefits fathers, it also has a significant impact on the lives of children and their mothers. Find a program Out-of-School Time The Out-of-School Time (OST) Program provides a mix of academic, recreational and cultural activities for young people (grades K-12) after school, during holidays and in the summer. Programs are free of charge and are located in every neighborhood across the City.
